Blackpeak adds PE guru to board
Risk advisory firm Blackpeak Group has appointed private equity investor and advisor Göran L. Seifert to its board. Seifert previously served as a member of British PE firm 3i Group's non-executive director program in Asia.
He will be an independent non-executive director at Blackpeak, based in Singapore.
Seifert has spent more than 25 years working across Asia in senior management and board roles with global industrial businesses including Philips Electronics and Ciments Français/Italcementi, where he focused on growing their Asia operations. He is a board member of cement producer Italcementi's Asia subsidiaries and a member of the International Advisory Council of Law Asia in Singapore.
In addition to Asia, Seifert - who hails from Sweden - has worked across Europe, Africa and Latin America.
"We have known Göran personally and professionally for some time and are delighted to welcome him to Blackpeak," commented Chris Leahy, co-founder of Blackpeak and former head of Asia at Kroll. "We are privileged to have attracted such an experienced professional to our board. Göran will add a unique perspective to our business strategy and development and will be instrumental in strengthening our governance."
Blackpeak was officially launched last September by Leahy and Nicholas Bryan-Brown, former head of investment banking for Asia Pacific at HSBC.
The firm simultaneously launched offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo to advise clients on investment sourcing, risk mitigation and transaction execution on deals across Asia. These clients include global and regional private equity, hedge, alternative asset, family office and sovereign wealth funds, as well as multinational and regional corporates.
It opened an office in Shanghai earlier this year.
