Campbell Lutyens recruits Suvir Varma as Asia chairman
Suvir Varma, formerly head of Bain & Company’s financial investor practice in Asia Pacific, has been appointed chairman for Asia Pacific at placement agent Campbell Lutyens.
Varma, who has been a member of the Campbell Lutyens advisory board since 2019, will support the team in developing its fund placement, secondary advisory, and GP capital advisory practices in the region.
Varma has over 25 years of experience in management consulting and private equity. At Bain & Company, where he achieved the rank of senior partner, he advised private equity and sovereign wealth funds on their investment strategies in Asia Pacific.

“It is a pleasure to welcome Suvir to the firm in this new expanded capacity,” said Andrew Sealey, CEO of Campbell Lutyens, in a statement. “Having benefited from his advice over the past few years as a member of our advisory board, we look forward to continuing to work together as we maintain and build on our market-leading position in Asia Pacific.”
Campbell Lutyens has advised on USD 7.6bn in transactions in Asia Pacific over the past two years. The firm claims that its 23-strong team is one of the largest working on private capital advisory mandates in the region.
