China’s New Pacific Consulting in merger with Parthenon
Shanghai-based private equity advisory firm New Pacific Consulting has merged with The Parthenon Group. The merger gives Parthenon, a provider of strategic and advisory services, a foothold in China to complement existing operations in Boston, San Francisco, London and Mumbai, and takes its headcount to approximately 300 members.
Matt Fish and David Anderson, formerly managing partners of New Pacific, will remain with the business post-merger. They are now both partners at Parthenon.
"This merger is a great opportunity for New Pacific Consulting clients," Fish said. "We have always had a deep expertise in the private equity and industrials sectors. Now we have the depth of Parthenon's other practices as well, in addition to the instant connection to resources throughout the globe."
Bill Achtmeyer, Parthenon's chairman and managing partner, explained that the firm's expansion into China was a strategic move designed to meet the increasing needs of existing clients and identify new growth opportunities.
Explaining why New Pacific appealed to Parthenon, Achtmeyer said, "They have seen unbridled growth, attesting to their ability to provide their clients with incredibly detailed primary research and analysis synthesized into actionable recommendations."
