Commonfund promotes Beijing office head
Commonfund Capital has promoted Leenong Li, head of its Beijing office and wider Asian initiatives, to managing director. He joined the firm in 2010, having previously spent five years as managing director of Jerusalem Venture Partners’ Shanghai office and as a partner at China Broadband Capital.
In addition to developing the group's presence in Asia, Li played a key role in bringing the first-ever Commonfund Endowment Institutional Investment Seminars to China in 2012. He is a member of the advisory board of several private equity and venture capital funds.
Commonfund Capital was set up in 1988 and provides a combination of fund-of-funds programs and separate and managed accounts for institutional investors. It has received commitments of more than $13.4 billion since inception.
Commonfund Capital is an investment arm of Commonfund, which creates customized investment solutions for non-profit institutions and pension funds. Directly or through its subsidiaries, including Commonfund Capital, the organization manages $25 billion for 1,500 clients.
