Capstone Partners opens office in Asia
Placement agent Capstone Partners has opened its maiden Asia office in Singapore. Two senior executives - Alexandre Schmitz and Teena Jilka – were hired to lead the firm’s operations.
Schmitz will be the head of Capstone's operations in Asia. Prior to the appointment, he served as the investment director at PAI Partners, and was a member of the executive committee at Cobepa, and CEO of BeCapital.
Jilka will be responsible for fundraising and deal origination in India. She previously worked at JP Morgan's Alternative Investment Group, marketing private equity, real estate and hedge funds to high-net-worth individuals in Europe.
"The Asia Pacific region offers enormous potential for private equity, real estate and infrastructure investors, as well as an expanding pool of talented investment firms," Giacomo Biondi Morra di Belforte, partner at Capstone Partners Europe, said in a statement. "Alexandre and Teena will increase our reach to both qualified investors and high-quality investment firms in Asia."
Capstone Partners, with a global team of over 25 professionals and offices in North America, Europe and Asia, has engaged in private equity fundraising since 2001.
