MoFo adds fund formation partner in Hong Kong
Morrison & Foerster (MoFo) has bolstered its Asia fund formation capabilities with the appointment of Nicholas Sheets as a partner based in its Hong Kong office.
Sheets previously spent eight years with Cleary Gottlieb in New York as an associate. He has advised Asian, US and Latin American financial sponsors and LPs on fund structuring and formation as well as on co-investment and secondary transactions. As part of MoFo's global private funds group, Sheets will primarily focus on clients operating in Asia and the US.
He joins Serena Tan in Hong Kong and Jason Nelms in Singapore as Asia-based partners concentrating on fund formation. Eric Piesner and Shirin Tang, managing partners for Asia and Singapore, respectively, are also listed as members of the private funds group, though their areas of coverage are broader.
"Nick is a talented funds lawyer who has a practice that is complementary to the complex work we do for fund sponsors and institutional investors," said Piesner in a statement. "Nick's strong practice and his ability to speak Mandarin Chinese make him an important addition to our growing Hong Kong office and an asset to our clients."
