India's VC-backed Mobikon buys Singapore's Trii.be
Indian customer engagement and marketing platform Mobikon, which is backed by Jungle Ventures, has bought Singapore's feedback management start-up Trii.be.
Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed. The deal is expected to help Mobikon grow its business in Southeast Asia. As part of the purchase, Trii.be co-founder Chua Chun Kiat will join Mobikon, according to a report by e27 that was linked from Mobikon's website.
Mobikon's software provides partner restaurants with a platform to engage with customers by sending them personalized offers and greetings. It was founded in 2009 and currently operates in India, Singapore, Macau, Malaysia, Dubai and the Philippines.
The acquisition of Trii.be allows Mobikon to add the company's customer satisfaction platform to its offering. Trii.be operates an online platform that aggregates customer feedback for its partner restaurants and offers analytics regarding customer satisfaction and experience.
Jungle Ventures has been a backer of Mobikon since 2012, when it led a $1.7 million investment in the company. Earlier this year it invested another $2.3 million in Mobikon.
Currently Jungle is investing out of its Jungle Venture Fund II, which launched last November with a target of $100 million. The firm, based in Singapore, provides early stage investments to start-ups in the Asia Pacific region. Recent investments include Thai fashion site Pomelo, for which Jungle led a $1.6 million pre-Series A round in 2014, and Singapore-based inventory management platform TradeGecko, for which it led a $6.5 million Series A round with NSI Ventures.
