Reed Smith hires Sidley Austin's Asia fund formation leader

Reed Smith has recruited Han Ming Ho, previously co-head of the Asia investment funds practice at Sidley Austin, as a partner in its global corporate group.
Ho, who spent approximately 10 years at Sidley, will continue to be based in Singapore. He focuses on the structuring and formation of investment funds across private equity, real estate, and hedge funds. He also provides strategic advice to fund managers regarding the establishment of business operations in Singapore and the management of regulatory issues in the country.
In addition, Ho has experience with Singapore’s nascent virtual assets ecosystem. He has worked on the structuring and offering of tokenised funds and non-fund tokenised offerings and provided guidance in areas such as the regulation and secondary trading of virtual assets.
“In recent years, [Reed Smith] has made significant investments in enhancing its global funds expertise whilst broadening its depth in Asia. I am delighted to be joining the firm on this exciting trajectory and look forward to working with my new colleagues in leading the expansion and growth of the funds practice in Asia-Pacific,” Ho said in a statement.
Reed Smith’s Asia footprint comprises offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, and Hong Kong. The firm has only one other partner in the region listed under private fund formation and counselling function – Hong Kong-based Mark Nicholas Cornell.
