Everstone hires Accel’s Prateek Dhawan
Everstone Capital has reportedly hired Prateek Dhawan direct from Accel Partners as a senior member of its investment team.
Dhawan - who joined Accel as a principal in its Indian growth equity team in June 2010 - will be based in Everstone's Mumbai office. At Accel, he was charged with managing growth-stage investments of $10-50 million in mid-sized companies across various sectors.
He previously worked as vice president for Goldman Sachs Investment Partners, where he headed up the firm's PE investments in India, which included Tikona Digital Networks, Bharti Infratel and Asian Genco.
Dhawan has additionally worked in corporate development for Cisco Systems, where he led investments in the video and service provider markets, and participated in the $7 billion purchase of Scientific Atlanta. He also managed the Arroyo Video and Widevine deals.
His earlier career included roles at DLJ Merchant Banking and Centillium Communications.
Everstone Partner and CEO Dhanpal Jhaveri confirmed that Dhawan will be joining the firm from April 1st this year.
Dhawan should be no stranger to Everstone, as the firms actually co-invested on both the Asian Genco and Tikona Digital transactions.
