Fleming, Iglesias leave Wilshire in Tokyo, Canberra
Grant Fleming, the long-serving Managing Director of Wilshire Private Markets in Tokyo, and Ovidio Iglesias, Senior MD with Wilshire in Australia, have left the $6 billion fund-of-funds, the latest in a series of senior departures from Wilshire including CIO Jeffrey Ennis.
A Wilshire representative confirmed the departures to AVCJ and referred further enquiries to Kevin Nee, the new president of Wilshire Private Markets, whose appointment in mid-2009 coincided with the first senior departures from the firm. Fleming and Iglesias's successors have yet to be confirmed, and their details remain on the Wilshire website at present.
Dr Grant Fleming, PhD, was formerly a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Commerce with the Australian National University, before joining Wilshire in 1997. He was responsible for all phases of investment origination and monitoring at Wilshire in Asia Pacific. Iglesias had oversight over the firm's operations across Asia Pacific, and was a private equity portfolio manager at Total Risk Management before joining Wilshire. Reports indicate that Australian LP Health Super is the latest LP to put Wilshire on review following the recent spate of senior departures.
