OTPP names Nicole Musicco as Asia head
Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP) has appointed Nicole Musicco as managing director for Asia-Pacific and head of the Hong Kong office.
Musicco joined OTPP in 2002, most recently serving as vice-president in the Toronto office. In her new position, she will be responsible "for the full investment cycle from origination to execution across asset classes in the region," the announcement said.
"Nicole's new role reflects our growing commitment to the Asia-Pacific market and its importance to the future of our fund," said Ron Mock, CEO and interim CIO of the pension fund.
OTPP has been investing in Asia since 1991, and opened an office in Hong Kong in 2013. Earlier this year, it hired Olivia Ouyang, formerly managing director and head of emerging markets at China Investment Corp. (CIC), as a Hong Kong-based director of funds and co-investments. In November, it appointed Dan Kiang as director of relationship investing to pursue direct deals across Asia.
It had a total of C$154.5 billion ($117 billion) in net assets at the end of last year. In Asia, it had C$12 million in assets under management.
