
Korean groups launch $180m North America infrastructure mandate
A group of Korean institutional investors led by a unit of KB Financial Group has awarded a North American infrastructure mandate worth $180 million to Fengate Capital Management.
The fund will target infrastructure assets such as roads, hospitals and renewable energy in Canada and the US. Its investors are the Public Officials Benefits Association, Dongbu Insurance, Heungkuk Life Insurance, Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance and Lotte Insurance.
"We are thrilled that these global, world class institutions have endorsed Fengate and our disciplined approach to creating long term sustainable yields from infrastructure investments," said Lou Serafini, president and CEO of Fengate, in a statement.
Fengate, which has approximately $2 billion in assets under management, specializes in infrastructure, commercial real estate and seniors housing investment. It has considerable experience in public-private partnerships, independent power projects and real estate development.
