
GA hires ex-Actis Asia IR head to spur capital partnering
General Atlantic (GA) has hired Pamela Fang, formerly head of Actis' investor development group in Asia, as a managing director to lead its capital partnering efforts in Asia.
Fang joined Actis in 2014 and led the establishment of the firm's Hong Kong office - which is primarily be used for investor relations and client services activities - last year. Prior to joining Actis, she was responsible for global business development and fundraising at CDIB Capital International and worked at GE Capital as a senior investment lead, focusing on direct private equity investments.
Fang will be based in General Atlantic's Hong Kong office. "Her deep network of relationships with institutions and families and proven capital raising and client service capabilities make her an ideal addition to our global team,” said Graves Tompkins, managing director and global head of capital partnering for General Atlantic.
General Atlantic has been active in Asia since 1999 and has offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, Mumbai, and Singapore. The firm focuses on five sectors: technology and the internet, financial services, business services, consumer and retail, and healthcare.
Four months ago, the firm appointed Yong Hak Huh, founder of First Bridge Strategies and formerly CIO of private markets and direct investment at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority as a special advisor. His role also involves working with capital partnering team on deepening ties with family and institutional investors in Asia.
In August, General Atlantic also appointed John A. Prasetio, previously Indonesia's ambassador to South Korea, as a special advisor.
