Barclays Capital hires Morgan Stanley's Andrew Richards to head Asia PE
Barclays Capital had reportedly headhunted Europe-based Morgan Stanley managing director Andrew Richards to head its private equity unit in Asia Pacific.
According to Reuters, Richards has been hired as a managing director at Barclays Capital to replace Takumi Tanaka, who departed the bank earlier this year for an undisclosed destination. Tanaka joined the firm in 2009 and was previously at Lehman Brothers Japan for four years as a managing director and head of its financial sponsors group.
Founded in 1979, Barclays Capital's private equity unit has invested in more than 350 companies, facilitated by capital raised from institutional investors as well as from its parent group.
