Bain, CVC lead nominations for 2012 AVCJ Awards
Bain Capital leads the way with four nominations in the 2012 AVCJ Asian Private Equity & Venture Capital Award, including the Firm of the Year category where it will compete for the honor against Archer Capital, Hony Capital, KKR and Navis Capital Partners. CVC Capital Partners has the second-highest number of nominations, with three.
Voting for the awards opens on Monday and runs until October 31. Votes are cast via the AVCJ website. (There will be an update on Monday including a link to the awards voting page.)
The nomination shortlists were compiled by the AVCJ Editorial Board in consultation with a judging panel of industry experts. We now turn to Asia's private equity community to select the winners.
The judges have a 25% say in the final result, with the AVCJ Editorial Board accounting for another 25%. This leaves 50% for the public vote. No more than 10 votes will be accepted from employees of a single firm.
The judges include executives from Allianz Capital Partners, Asia Alternatives, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), Capital Dynamics, Hamilton Lane, HarbourVest Partners, LGT Capital Partners, Pantheon and Squadron Capital.
The winners will be announced at an invitation-only gala dinner in Hong Kong on November 13, preceding the AVCJ Forum, which runs from November 14 to November 16.
