Goodwin Procter adds partner to Asia PE practice
Goodwin Procter has recruited Gloria Liu as a partner in its private equity and M&A practices, based in Hong Kong. She joins from Paul Weiss, where she was a senior associate.
Liu will focus on cross-border M&A, private equity and venture capital, and foreign direct investment into China. She has previously represented major private equity funds in a variety of investments and going-private transactions in the Greater China region.
Jay Chiu, currently a counsel in Goodwin's litigation department and a member of the intellectual property group in Los Angeles, is also joining the Hong Kong office.
"[Gloria's] regional transactional experience and expertise, coupled with the addition of Jay's skills, will build on the momentum we have established and assist us in continuing to deliver exceptional client service for companies located in, or those interested in doing business throughout, Asia," Yash Rana, chair of Goodwin's Hong Kong office and head of its Asia practice, said in a statement.
Goodwin Procter's Asia practice serves regional geographies and multiple sectors in Greater China, India, Japan and Southeast Asia.
