Blue Sky makes two hires, opens Sydney office
Australia’s Blue Sky Alternative Investments has hired two executives with corporate finance private equity backgrounds to run its operations in Sydney and Adelaide.
Andrew Champion will take charge of the firm's new Sydney office where he will be responsible for portfolio management, sourcing new deals and private equity fundraising. He previously worked at Phillip Capital and was head of financial sponsor coverage at Citi, the Australian Financial Review reported.
As head of the Adelaide operation, which already has a staff of six, Mark Watson will focus on water assets held by Blue Sky's infrastructure fund as well as private equity. He joins the firm from KPMG's corporate finance team.
Blue Sky has more than A$216 million ($221 million) in assets under management across private equity, infrastructure, real estate and hedge funds. Its private equity business targets small- and medium-sized enterprises.
