
Bessemer appoints new India VP
Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP) has promoted Mumbai-based Abhijeet Muzumdar to vice president.
Muzumdar focuses primarily on internet and technology startups and has been involved in investments including BharatMatrimony.com, Snapdeal.com, Home First Finance Company and Dhanlaxmi Bank. Prior to joining Bessemer India in 2009, he served at Edelweiss Capital, UBS and KPMG.
Bessemer has also appointed Sarah Tavel vice president in its California office. She is responsible for business related to software and internet sectors.
"We are very pleased to announce these well deserved promotions," BVP partner Ed Colloton said. "Abhijeet and Sarah are both tremendous talents and valuable contributors to our investment team, and we look forward to their ongoing contributions as BVP continues to look for innovative companies and talented entrepreneurs."
BVP has offices in New York, Silicon Valley, Boston, Mumbai and Herzliya. It has more than $2 billion in funds under management.
