Riverside-backed MNX in Singapore bolt-on acquisition
The Riverside Company has completed the bolt-on acquisition of Singapore-based Aero Express Logistics (AEL) to its global transportation and logistics platform MNX Global Logistics.
AEL is a third-party logistics provider that serves the aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) market in Asia. The acquisition will bring AEL's customers, including a slate of international airlines and MRO customers, over to MNX, while also deepening MNX's service capabilities in Singapore. MNX's Asia operations are also expected to benefit from the addition of AEL's networks.
Riverside acquired US-based MNX in 2012, with the goal of building it into a global logistics platform via organic growth and bolt-on acquisitions. The company operates in more than 500 cities worldwide, serving clients in the biopharmaceutical, life sciences, medical device, aviation and entertainment industries.
"This combination will provide MNX's aviation customers with better access to Singapore's growing aerospace cluster, while allowing AEL's existing customers to tap into MNX's worldwide network and technology platforms," said MNX CEO Paul J. Martins in a statement. "Together both companies are better positioned to deliver enhanced service and worldwide supply chain solutions to new and existing customers in the aviation, aerospace and MRO industries."
Riverside seeks growth capital and mezzanine buyout deals across a wide range of sectors, including consumer products and services, education, financial services and manufacturing. The firm is investing out of its second Asia fund, which closed in 2014 at $235 million.
