Jungle Ventures backs Singapore's Klinify
Klinify, a Singapore-based electronic medical records management service provider, has received S$770,000 ($604,000) in seed funding round led by Jungle Ventures.
The new capital will be used to grow the team, expand the user base and improve services.
The application, which helps doctors migrate to electronic patient records using tablet computers, was launched by two students from the National University of Singapore, Nishanth Sudharsanam and Krishanthan Surendran. The business was developed through the Joyful Frog Digital Incubator (JFDI.Asia) accelerator program last year.
The firm is currently looking for partnerships with major medical groups.
"It was obvious Jungle Ventures' portfolio companies offered great synergies with Klinify," Surendran said in a statement. "Investment is a long-term people relationship too and we found that we connected immediately with the team at Jungle and their partners. Those relationships, networks and experience are exactly what we are going to need as we bring medical clinics in Asia to the forefront of technology."
The Singapore-based venture capital firm currently has $15 million in assets under management. It also operates a seed fund and incubator in Singapore and India, focused on angel level investments.
Modeled on US accelerator Tech Stars, JFDI.Asia looks for teams ready to take their start-up from concept to early-stage investment. In 2012, more than 60% of teams completing the JFDI.Asia program succeeded in raising an average S$650,000 per team.
