GSR's Fong made HYSTA Investor of the Year
Kevin Fong, US-based Special Advisor for China/US VC investor GSR Ventures and former Mayfield Fund MD, has been named the inaugural "Investor of the Year" by the Hua Yuan Science and Technology Association (HYSTA), a leading Chinese American VC and entrepreneur organization.
According to HYSTA. Fong was honored for his achievement as an entrepreneur and mentor to other entrepreneurs, as well as a successful VC investor. Fong was formerly an MD with the Mayfield Fund to 2008, and helped found GSR in 2004.
Founded in 1999 by a group of Chinese Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, HYSTA aims to foster business and cultural exchanges between China and the US. Its programs include the Executive Club for startup founders and senior executives and the Venture Capital Group for PRC-connected VCs, both invitation only, as well as the Emerging Leaders Forum for aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals.
