
Walkers hires Thomas Granger to Singapore team
Offshore law firm Walkers is relocating Hong Kong-based partner Thomas Granger to its Singapore office. Granger has more than 10 years’ experience in corporate work, particularly investment funds and private equity.
Granger joined the Hong Kong office of Walkers in July 2005 and became a partner in the Global Investment Funds group in five years later. Before joining Walkers, he worked for Minter Ellison, joining in 2000 and moving to their Hong Kong office in 2003.
Indonesian private equity and corporate transactions are Granger's specialism, and he also has substantial knowledge of the Australian and Japanese hedge fund and private equity markets and advises clients on public and private offerings in Australia and Japan.
"Tom, with his particular expertise in hedge funds and private equity in Southeast Asia, will be a valuable asset, augmenting the offering from our current team," said John Rogers, managing partner of Walkers' Singapore office.
He added that the Singapore office has experienced dramatic growth since it was opened in 2009, and is now the largest offshore firm in Singapore servicing financial institutions across Southeast Asia and India.
Walkers also has offices in the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Dubai, Dublin, Jersey and London, from which its provides legal services to corporations and financial institutions, capital markets participants, investment fund managers, and growth-and middle-market companies.
