Ex-Macquarie Asia PE head Hugh Dyus joins Navis
Navis Capital Partners has appointed Hugh Dyus, who until last year was head of Asia private equity at Macquarie Funds Management, as a partner based in Hong Kong.
Dyus spent eight years at Macquarie covering primary fund commitments, secondary transactions and co-investments. He left the firm when the fund-of-funds team spun out to form ROC Partners.
Before joining Macquarie, Dyus worked on buyouts and growth capital investments for PPM Ventures.
Navis focuses on control transactions across Asia, with a particular focus on Southeast Asia, Australia and Hong Kong. Since 2000, the firm has made over 60 investments - of which 20 have been follow-on acquisitions - generating a gross IRR of 25% and a money multiple of 2.4x as of year-end 2014.
Navis' seventh fund closed last year on $1.5 billion. The bulk of the international LP commitments, totaling around $1.3 billion, were in by early 2014, and the fund was topped off by a shariah-compliant vehicle.
