
Shaw Kwei strengthens Hong Kong team
Middle market Asian PE firm Shaw Kwei & Partners has hired Brian Lau as an executive director based in its Hong Kong office.
Lau was formerly a partner at boutique investment bank and advisory firm Prometheus, where he specialized in cross-border advisory and investment collaboration. Before that he held executive roles with Celestica and Texas Instruments in Canada and Hong Kong.
Lau is expected to offer operational expertise in the technology and manufacturing sectors. He will also contribute his transactional expertise to Shaw Kwei's deal flow and asset transactions.
"Brian brings the ideal combination of deep operational expertise coupled with the experience required to get deals done. He is a proven industrial manager with strategic vision in the manufacturing space and embodies our hands-on management approach to our portfolio companies," said Kyle Shaw, managing director at Shaw Kwei.
Shaw Kwei invests in middle-market companies with operations in Asia, chiefly in the industrial, manufacturing and services sectors. The firm was established in 1999 and has offices in Hong Kong and Singapore.
