CHAMP buys ATF Services from Quadrant
In the region's latest secondary buyout - actually a tertiary transaction - Australia's CHAMP Private Equity has purchased ATF Services, a maker of temporary fence and height-safety products, from Sydney-based Quadrant Private Equity for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition was funded from the CHAMP III buyout fund. According to the firm, Sydney-based ATF was a strong target because of its positioning in its sector. It employs approximately 180 people in offices in Australia and New Zealand.
"The company was previously owned by CHAMP Ventures so there is good institutional knowledge of this business and what it is capable of," CHAMP's Director John Haddock said in a statement.
The news comes the same week that CHAMP announced its sale of university program provider Study Group to the US-based Providence Equity Partners for $570 million. That sale occurred after reported rival bidders Bain Capital, Apollo Global and Kaplan Professional ended their pursuit of the company.
