
SVCA Awards, Hall of Fame showcase Singapore's private equity and VC brightest
The Singapore Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SVCA) has released the results of its inaugural SVCA Annual Awards, with winners recognized in four categories, as well as inducting five local VC and private equity pioneers into its Hall of Fame.
The Awards were divided into Best Performing VC/PE-backed Company and Best Exit, with two categories for each. In Best Performing Company, Upstream Ventures & Tigris Capital won the first category with investee AllProperty Media; and 3i Group and iGlobe Partners tied in the second category, with Asia Capital Reinsurance Group and Telenav Inc. respectively. In Best Exit, Vickers Financial Group won the first category with Cambridge Real Estate Investment Management, and Southern Capital Group and Symphony Capital Partners tied with Novomatrix Pte. Ltd. and Parkway Holdings Ltd. respectively.
The five inductees into the newly-inaugurated SVCA Hall of Fame were Timothy Chia Chee Ming, former director of PAMA Group and current chairman for Asia at UBS Investment Bank; Lee Kheng Nam, President and director of Vertex Management; Christopher Leong Ka Cheong, co-founder and President of Transpac Capital; Tan Keng Boon, Managing Partner at South East Asia Venture Investment (SEAVI), as well as founding president of the SVCA; and Anil Thadani, Chairman of Symphony Asia Holdings.
