Ant Global Partners' $150m secondary fund targets Greater China, Japan
Ant Global Partners (AGP) - the international investment arm of Japanese PE firm Ant Capital Partners - is targeting $150 million for a new secondary fund focused on Greater China and Japan.
The fund has already secured two closes and is aiming for a final close by the end of the year, Shunsa Hayashi, managing director of AGP, told Dow Jones.
The vehicle is the latest in a series of secondary funds launched by AGP, including its Primasia Ant Bridge No. 1 Greater China Secondary Fund, which closed in 2006 at $77 million, and Ant Global Partners Japan Strategic Fund I, which closed in 2008 at $51 million.
Based in Singapore, AGP was established by Ant Capital in 2007 with the remit of focusing on private equity investment both in Japan and East Asia.
Ant Capital, formerly Nikko Ant Factory, was set up in 2000 and focuses on domestic investments in small-cap private companies, venture capital and secondaries. The firm closed its third Japanese secondaries fund in late 2011 at $140 million.
