KKR appoints former Singaporean minister as adviser
Former Singaporean politician and minister to the prime minister’s office Lim Hwee Hua has been appointed senior adviser to KKR.
Lim was elected to Singapore's parliament in 1996, and has held the roles of deputy speaker and chairman of the Public Accounts Committee. Lim also served as second minister for finance and for transport from August 2004 to May 2011, making her the first woman to take on a full ministerial role. She relinquished her seat this year when the Aljunied Group Representation Constituency lost in the general election.
"Lim is a proven leader in the worlds of government, finance and investment. Her experiences in these fields and her expertise of Singapore and Southeast Asia will be particularly valuable to KKR going forward as we continue to expand our business in those regions," KKR's co-founder, Henry Kravis, said in a statement.
