Morgan Stanley's King to depart to Barclays
Morgan Stanley's Asia Pacific head of M&A Edward King is reportedly to depart the bank for Barclays, where he is slated to hold a parallel position.
King will be replaced by Samuel Kim and Peter Ding, who will assume the roles of co-heads of Asia Pacific M&A. Kim, who once led M&A operations for Morgan Stanley Korea, was hitherto Asia Pacific COO of investment banking.
King's departure marks the second high-profile exit from the Morgan Stanley's dealmaking units to Barclays in recent months. In September, Morgan Stanley's regional head of investment banking Matthew Ginsburg joined the British bank as its Asia Pacific head of investment banking.
The event comes one day after new surfaced that Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.'s head of the Middle East and North Africa Makram Azar would also leave the firm for Barclays, where he is tapped to be the head of investment banking for the region.
