
Norton Rose nabs Lucas from Baker & McKenzie
International law firm Norton Rose has appointed Andrew Lucas as a partner in its corporate team based in Bangkok. He joins from Baker & Mackenzie’s Beijing office, where he was also a partner.
Lucas has worked on corporate finance and restructuring matters throughout Asia and Europe, including international M&A, outbound investments, joint ventures and other equity capital markets transactions.
"Andrew's appointment comes at an exciting time for us in Bangkok as activity in mergers and acquisitions continue to build," said Jeff Smith, head of Southeast Asia, at Norton Rose. "With his skill, expertise and many years of transactional experience, Andrew will provide a valuable resource in Bangkok for clients seeking to expand abroad and make an impact at a global level."
Lucas added that he perceives Norton Rose's corporate practice as a leading player in the Thai legal market and was impressed by the team's reputation internationally.
In addition to Bangkok, Norton Rose's Asia Pacific offices are located in Beijing, Brisbane, Canberra, Hong Kong, Melbourne, Perth, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo. It also has associate offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta.
