Alvarez & Marsal promotes Utamsingh to India co-head
Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has named Vikram Utamsingh, managing director responsible for its India transactions advisory group, as country co-head.
This comes as the group launches its dedicated corporate finance and commercial due diligence practices in the country.
A&M hired Utamsingh - former head of transaction and restructuring at KPMG India - less than six months ago to help launch its dedicated transaction advisory practice in the country. Utamsingh has more than 20 years of experience in Indian M&A.
The firm has also appointed two other former KPMG executives: Nandini Chopra will become managing director, corporate finance, and Manish Saigal has been made managing director, commercial due diligence.
According to a release, A&M is expanding to cater to demand from private equity firms and strategic investors for an integrated approach to due diligence that incorporates financial accounting, tax and operational capabilities.
"Amidst continuing global economic uncertainty and a new economic paradigm, Indian companies and multinational businesses with operations in India are seeking real solutions to address challenges related to growing operations and managing performance," said Sankar Krishnan, managing director and country co-head.
