Freshfields promotes Shanghai PE lawyer to counsel
International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has promoted Christian Zeppezauer from its corporate practice in Shanghai to the role of counsel.
The promotion comes into effect from November 1.
Zeppezauer specializes in private and public cross-border M&A, private equity and general corporate work. He advises multinational corporations and financial investors on their investments in Asia, particular China, as well as Chinese corporations on their outbound investments. He joined Freshfields in 2007.
"We are delighted to be promoting four new counsel in Asia," commented Robert Ashworth, Freshfields' Asia managing partner. "We have market leading reputations across a number of our practice areas in Asia and I am confident that the technical ability and commercial insight of our new counsel will further enhance our ability to satisfy client needs wherever they arise."
Zeppezauer's election to counsel level comes at the same time as that of 13 other executives across the law firm's global practice, including - within Asia - Gang Yuan from the corporate practice, Daniel French from the finance practice and Mark Mangan from the dispute resolution practice. Yuan works in Beijing, French will be relocating to Hong Kong in December and Mangan will be relocating to Singapore.
