
Angelo, Gordon hires Filippelis for Australia & New Zealand
Angelo, Gordon & Co, the New York-headquartered alternative investment firm, has recruited Phillip Filippelis, an ex-asset manager at French bank Societe Generale, as MD who will be responsible for business development in Australia and New Zealand.
Filippelis will focus on broader networks with institutional investors across all the firm’s strategies, including private equity and hedge funds. Filippelis formerly was head of institutional business in Australia and Southeast Asia for Societe Generale Asset Management. He also worked for SocGen’s affiliate company Trust Company of the West.
Founded in 1988, Angelo, Gordon has approximately $23 billion in capital under management through private equity and hedge fund strategies, as well as real estate and distressed debt situations.
