Paul Capital hires two for India sourcing
Global secondaries investor Paul Capital has bolstered its India talent with the appointment of Anand Sunderji and Akshat Shukla as regional sourcing agents, both charged with evaluating secondary PE transactions across the market.
Sunderji joins from the fund-of-funds Guggenheim Capital Management Asia, where he was Co-Head of its Mumbai operations. He has previously held positions at Adveq Management AG and served as Head of the Investors at the World Economic Forum in Geneva and New York. Shukla, meanwhile, had managed Indian investment strategy for Adveq Management AG, had previously worked at ING Bank in London and was a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers in India.
The appointments come weeks after the firm promoted the Director of its Hong Kong bureau Jason Sambanju to the role of Managing Director and Co-Head of Asia, jointly held with MD Lucian Wu. Paul Capital claims $7.6 billion in capital commitments globally over its three investment platforms: private equity secondaries; healthcare royalty and revenue interests; and venture capital fund of funds. The group has completed more than 175 secondary market acquisitions. It is now a limited partner in more than 350 partnerships and 700 funds.
