Leopard Capital appoints Cambodia CIO
Leopard Capital has hired Richard Intrator to be its new Cambodia managing partner and chief investment officer. He will be based in Phnom Penh.
Prior to joining Leopard, Intrator was the executive in residence at Stamford International University in Thailand. He previously held senior roles with IMAX, Patriarch Partners portfolio company Petry Media, PaineWebber, Kidder, Peabody & Co, and Booz, Allen & Hamilton.
He has been a member of the board at The Lighthouse International, where he was vice-chairman, as well as at Juniper Content Corp. and Golden Books Family Entertainment.
"As the Leopard Cambodia Fund moves into its portfolio management phase, Richard's long experience in operational management and strategic consulting makes him an invaluable addition to our team" commented Douglas Clayton, founder and CEO of Leopard Capital Group.
Intrator replaces Scott Lewis, who resigned as Cambodia CIO to become the head of Corporate Finance at Oryx Petroleum in Switzerland, but remains a consultant partner for Leopard.
Leopard currently operates the $34 million Leopard Cambodia Fund, which launched in 2008 and has since made 12 investments and achieved two exits. Earlier this year it announced plans for a long-only PIPE fund that will target deals in 12 frontier markets in Asia.
In July, it reached a first close of $20 million on the first dedicated Haiti vehicle raised since the 2010 earthquake. The final target for the Leopard Haiti Fund is $40-75 million.
