
Saban Capital opens Singapore office
Saban Capital Group, a Los Angeles - based PE firm which invests in the media and communications sector, has opened a new office in Singapore.
Sumeet Jaisinghani, a director with Saban, has been relocated from the firm's Hong Kong office to head up operations there.
Saban Capital Group, was established in 2001 by billionaire Haim Saban, began investing in Asia in 2010 and opened its Hong Kong office in early 2012. The firm currently has five portfolio investments in the region.
These investments include: Media Nusantara Citra; Indonesian pay TV operator MNC Sky Vision; Celestial Tiger Entertainment, a joint venture with Astro and Lionsgate; Chinese children's online entertainment company Taomee and Indonesia's Global Mediacom.
Jaisinghani, who joined Saban Capital Group in 2008, has been involved with all of the firm's investments in Asia.
"The opening of our office in Singapore highlights our continued focus on expanding our investment presence in Asia and, in particular, the increased emphasis that we have placed on Southeast Asia and India," said Adam Chesnoff, president and chief operating officer of Saban Capital Group.
