
Actis announces new China, India partner promotions
Actis has announced the promotion of four of its directors to partner status, all of them in Asia: Tao Sun and Dong Zhong, based in Beijing; and Sanjiv Aggarwal and Shomik Mukherjee, both based in Mumbai.
According to Actis, both Sun and Zhong focus on consumer and retail, with Sun specializing in education and acting as investment manager for online learning investee Ambow, while Zhong currently oversees Actis's investment in hot pot chain Xiabu Xiabu. Aggarwal leads Actis's south Asia infrastructure business, with considerable experience in petrochemicals and urban infrastructure; while Mukherjee focuses chiefly on consumer and retail, managing investments into Paras Pharmaceuticals and Sterling Hospitals, among others.
“These promotions acknowledge the significant contribution these individuals have made to the firm and their instinctive grasp of the core values of Actis," Paul Fletcher, Senior Partner at Actis, said publicly.
