
Markus Ableitinger joins placement agent Pyramid
Markus Ableitinger, formerly an Asia-based managing director with Capital Dynamics, has joined placement agent Pyramid Private Equity Partners as an associate partner. He will continue to focus on Asia.
Ableitinger joined Capital Dynamics in 2000, initiated its Asian coverage and opened the firm's first Asian office in Hong Kong in 2005. He relocated to Asia in 2007. Ableitinger led and managed investments into over 30 Asian buyout, growth capital, venture and special situation funds, overseeing commitments of more than $1.3 billion. He was also responsible for Asian strategy.
Earlier in his career, he led the European and emerging markets private equity business for Switzerland's RMF Investment Group (now part of Man Group) and before that spent four years in Moscow working for Invesco CEAM, an Eastern Europe-focused buyout fund.
Founded in 2005, Pyramid is a boutique placement agent with a strong investor network in the Middle East and Nordic countries, and also selectively, in Asia and broader European markets. It has a presence in Abu Dhabi, Helsinki, Mumbai, Paris and São Paulo.
