
Singapore's Luminor Capital invests $6.1m Swiss NGFI
Luminor Capital, a Singapore-based private equity firm, has invested CHF5.5 million ($6.1 million)in Switzerland's Next Generation Finance Invest (NGFI).
Set up in 2006 and listed on the Bern eXchange (BX), Zug-based NGFI is a financial trading platform which in turn invests in start-ups focusing on the latest developments in financial technology such as electronic trading and investment platforms.
NGFI's portfolio investments include social trading platform Ayondo, trading platform Gekko Global Markets, currency platform OANDA, social media-based financial analysis application StockPulse, asset allocation tool Yavalu and 2iQ which specializes in director dealing data.
According to a release, the investment will be used as growth capital to aid the company in its ambition of becoming a leading global player in the field of social trading and investment products. As a result of the transaction NGFI will be transformed from an investment company into an operational holding company and delist.
"Luminor will support us not only as a financial investor, but through their extensive network in the Asian region will contribute to the further development of the business," said Robert Lempka, founding partner of NGFI, "The investment proves that the theme of ‘Next Generation Finance' is now attracting institutional investors."
