Indonesian incubator Grupara invests in fashion site
Indonesian venture capital firm Grupara has invested in men's fashion e-commerce site Maskool.in for an undisclosed amount.
Maskool.in, set up by the founders of social recommendation site Rockto, is a start-up based in Indonesia. The site is ranked 1,935 in the country according to Alexa, with most of its customers coming from Jakarta.
"What I love about the team is that the founders are all techies and engineers with good technical skills but they are also great entrepreneurs," said Aryo Ariotedjo, managing partner of Grupara, told Tech in Asia.
This is Grupara's second fashion start-up investment, following Gravira, a crowdsourcing and e-commerce site where users design their own t-shirts. The VC firm says it is also investing in several Series A companies and hopes to announce the deals over the next couple of months.
Grupara was set up in 2011 and is based in Jakata. Seed investments typically range from $50,000 to $500,000 and early-stage investments have a ceiling of $1.5 million.
