Singapore digital health start-up Ora raises $10m

Singapore-based digital health start-up Ora has raised a USD 10m Series A round led by TNB Aura and Antler. Other participants include Gobi Partners, Kairous Capital, and GMA Ventures.
Ora was founded in 2020 by Elias Pour, a former chief marketing officer at Southeast Asian e-commerce giant Zalora. It focuses on specialised healthcare verticals including women’s health, men’s health, and skincare with a direct-to-patient approach. It claims to offer end-to-end solutions from consultation and pharmacy to post-purchase care.
The company has three brands targeting different patient groups. They are Modules, which provides online dermatology treatment with 676 different formulations; AndSons, which offers male health solutions; and OVA, which delivers female reproductive healthcare.
Ora sees a disconnect between the young patient population and the traditional healthcare as its largest opportunity. It claims that 90% of its users are under 38 years old and experiencing symptoms for the first time.
Ora claims to have delivered over 250,000 consultations via more than 6m patient touchpoints and experienced uninterrupted month-on-month growth since launching in 2021. The company said it achieved post-marketing breakeven at the end of last year, with subscriptions representing more than 70% of revenue.
The new funding will be used to expand geographically and with new offerings. Products under Ora brands are expected enter 1,300 new retail stores within the year.
“Since Ora’s early days, TNB Aura has been a firm believer and strong supporter of Elias and the Ora team in their unwavering mission to provide access to affordable high-quality healthcare,” Charles Wong, a founding partner at TNB Aura, said in a statement.
“Their combined focus on specialised, and often taboo, healthcare verticals as well as a direct-to-patient approach has led the team to clearly differentiate itself while delivering market-leading unit economics that meet the tailored needs of patients across the full value chain.”
