Linklaters targets Singapore fund formation space

Linklaters has recruited Joel Seow, formerly a partner at Morgan Lewis, to launch a fund formation practice in Singapore.
Seow advises sponsors in Asia on the establishment of funds and other vehicles across private equity, venture capital, real estate, infrastructure, special situations, and hedge funds. He also covers the LP side, working with institutional investors on fund commitments, and advises on regulatory and licensing issues.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis in 2019, Seow briefly served as a legal consultant to several Singapore-based fund managers. Before that, he spent five years at Sidley Austin and also worked for Clifford Chance and Dechert.
“Joel is an established practitioner in the global funds space, and his experience will be invaluable in helping us to establish a strong investment funds practice in Asia, working alongside our market-leading regulatory, corporate and finance practices to meet the growing demand from our clients and continue to deliver best in class service,” said Silke Bernard, global head of investment funds at Linklaters.
