Ashurst hires Danny Tan as Asia investment funds head
Ashurst has recruited Danny Tan from Allen & Gledhill to lead its investment funds practice in Asia Pacific. He will continue to be based in Singapore.
Tan has 20 years of experience advising on investment funds, capital markets, and M&A. As head of the private funds team at Allen & Gledhill, he worked on fund formation and restructuring projects and handled investments and regulatory issues. Tan has represented the full spectrum of alternative asset managers as well as sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and financial institutions.
"Singapore is one of the fastest growing asset management hubs for private investments in Asia and it is an attractive location for global investment managers and investors, including sovereign wealth funds and pension funds. Danny is a highly regarded senior lawyer in the Singapore legal industry and the 'go-to' advisor for fund management,” Patrick Phua, Ashurst’s regional head for Asia, said in a statement.
In Asia, the firm’s investment funds practice currently operates out of Hong Kong and Australia. Funds partners include Dean Moroz in Hong Kong, Con Tzerefos in Melbourne and Lisa Simmons in Sydney.
