TA promotes India-based Sharma to principal
Aditya Sharma, who makes investments in India for TA Associates, has been promoted from senior vice president to principal.
Since joining the firm in 2008 – and relocating from London to Mumbai in early 2009 – Sharma has worked on deals such as Atria Convergence Technologies, Dr Lal PathLabs, Billdesk, Prudent Corporate Advisory Services (PCAS), Shilpa Medicine, TCNS Clothing, and Tega Industries. He is currently a board member at PCAS, a mutual funds provider TA backed in 2018.
Prior to TA, Sharma spent approximately two years with Lehman Brothers in London, focusing on M&A in the technology, media and telecom (TMT) sector.
The private equity firm is currently deploying its 13th global flagship fund, which closed at $8.5 billion last year. The strategy is to support growth companies with profitable business models across technology, healthcare, financial services, consumer and business services, committing $75-500 million in equity per deal.
India has been TA's most active Asia market in recent years. Over the past 18 months, it has invested in fertility business Indira IVF as well as PCAS, while TCNS, a women's apparel retailer, completed a domestic IPO.
