Lazard's Nick Miles take on Asia-Europe role
Nick Miles, leader of the Asia private capital advisory team at Lazard, has taken on a newly created role intended to enhance collaboration between the firm’s operations in Asia and Europe.
Miles, who has been with Lazard for 13 years, will continue to be based in Singapore but spend more time in London as head of Asia Pacific and European private equity. The new position is intended to formalize existing management functions involving primary, secondary and real estate capital raising and liquidity solutions services, bringing them under a single person.
The bulk of Lazard’s operations are in the US, but the firm has been growing its presence in Asia and Europe. There are 11 people – soon to be 14, including a real estate lead – working out of Singapore and a further 18 in London. The global private capital advisory team has around 80 members.
The need for closer collaboration between Asia and Europe is said to reflect increasing private capital flows between the two regions, and between Asia and global markets generally.
Lazard strengthened its secondaries business in the region last year with the appointment of Dominik Woessner as head of origination and execution. He previously spent 10 years with Greenhill Cogent, rising to head the firm’s Asia operation in 2013.
