Jireh Li, formerly chief representative for Asia at US-based fund-of-funds Commonfund Capital, has joined Chinese venture capital firm Source Code Capital as an executive director.
Li joined Commonfund's Beijing office in 2011, and was involved in formulating the US firm's emerging market and Greater China investment strategies. Over the past eight years, she has led Commonfund’s venture capital and private equity investments in China, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and Australia. In her new role, Li will help oversee Source Code’s general corporate management.
Source Code was founded in 2014 by Yi Cao, a former partner at Sequoia Capital. The firm was among the first batch of Chinese VC spin-outs from established firms. With a focus on early-stage technology investments, the GP currently manages over $750 million across three US dollar funds – the latest of which closed at $260 million last year – and RMB3 billion ($477 million) in renminbi vehicles.
