MBK promotes COO to partner
MBK Partners has promoted Bryan Byungsuk Min, currently the firm’s COO, to partner.
Min joined MBK in 2005, having previously worked for Olympus Capital Asia and UBS Capital Asia Pacific (now Affinity Equity Partners). He became a managing director in the Seoul office in 2013 and assumed the COO role in 2016, relocating to Hong Kong in the process.
Min’s promotion takes the total number of partners at MBK to nine. Last September, the firm confirmed the appointment of Stephen Le, formerly of Deutsche Bank, as a partner and co-head of a new fund that will make credit and special situations investments.
Established in 2005, MBK's core strategy is buyouts in North Asia. It has offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai, and Tokyo. The firm manages more than $15 billion in capital and is currently deploying its fourth fund, which closed in December 2016 at $4.1 billion.
