Singapore’s Hera backs social media content publisher
Singapore private equity firm Hera Capital has made an undisclosed equity investment in My Social Book, a company that publishes personalized hardback scrapbooks, diaries and photo albums based on customers’ timestamped social media resources.
The investment is expected to accelerate company growth through the development of new products and entry into new Asian markets. The business currently transacts across 20 countries, with the majority of sales coming from the US, Europe and Australia.
Established in 2011, My Social Book produces books in 10 languages, which are manufactured by publishes on three continents. Its flagship software builds automatic photobooks, year books and "life books" of up to 500 pages each.
"We chose to invest in My Social Book because we loved the one click photo book concept, the company's business model and the potential for Southeast Asia," Hera co-founder Sebastien Guillaud said in a statement.
Hera focuses on Southeast Asia, with investments of $1-10 million per company in the consumer retail, media and digital sectors. The firm has recently been active in the social media space with the exit last year of Chinese analytics firm ActSocial to Linkfluence.
