Singapore's Tagit receives $8.8m from Japanese IT group
Singapore mobile technology company Tagit has secured S$12 million ($8.8 million) for an international expansion effort from SRA Group, a Japanese IT systems developer and operator.
The capital will be used to enhance Tagit's fintech capabilities and establish a presence in North Asia, where SRA is expected to offer support through significant local connections, especially in Japan. The investment will also be used to increase staff numbers in Malaysia and Indonesia, where the company has tracked strong demand for its products, according to a statement.
"The strategic alliance between SRA and Tagit will enable both companies to widen their business reach in Asia, targeting both Japanese and non-Japanese companies," said Toru Kashima, president of SRA Holdings. "SRA will leverage on Tagit's deep experience and broad capabilities in designing and developing digital products and services that offer new ways to bring value to the customer experience."
Tagit's Mobeix platform allows banks and companies to build scalable digital applications. The company has subsidiaries in India, Malaysia, Indonesia and Canada. It has serviced financial institutions including United Overseas Bank, Axis Bank, Bank Danamon Indonesia, Royal Bank of Canada and Citibank India.
Founded in 1991, SRA builds IT systems, provides consulting and operational services for networks, and markets packaged software and related equipment.
