Countdown to the AVCJ Forum
In just over a month, we will be holding our 24th Annual AVCJ Private Equity & Venture Forum in Hong Kong. As in the past, AVCJ’s annual event has attracted the biggest and most influential names in the private equity industry including such leaders as KKR’s Henry Kravis, The Carlyle Group’s David Rubenstein, TPG Capital’s David Bonderman, Oaktree’s Howard Marks and Provident Equity Partner’s Jonathan Nelson. That’s in addition to a stellar collection of top decision makers from the world’s most powerful LPs, including CalPERS, HarbourVest, Capital Dynamics, Future Fund, Government of Singapore Investment Corp., Temasek Holdings, AlpInvest…
As the anchor event of Private Equity Week Asia, a weeklong bonanza of conferences, meetings and networking events held in Hong Kong and across the region, the AVCJ Forum is definitely the must-attend event for all industry participants.
While many conferences are nothing more than just speed dating events, where GP delegates try to meet the LPs and perfect their elevator pitches, we see our conference as an opportunity for senior industry professionals address key issues affecting the market. This not only applies to our flagship Investment Forum, but also the more recently added Private Equity Leaders' Summit and Limited Partners Summit.
As the leaders of the most influential organizations, AVCJ Forum speakers are uniquely qualified to comment on what's actually happening, what the issues are and how to deal with them effectively. For example, we have a very senior panel of fund-of-funds and gatekeepers discussing the future of their segment of the industry. As many of the large institutional investors are building teams to invest in private equity, questions are being asked of the value that fund-of-funds and gatekeepers provide. Come to Hong Kong and find out their answer.
Obviously, high quality networking will be a big part of our event. To facilitate this, we've made sure that there are more than enough opportunities for delegates to mingle and exchange cards including the opening cocktails, full length coffee breaks, gala cocktails and dinner.
The AVCJ Private Equity & Venture Forum takes place from November 8-10 in Hong Kong. Please visit www.AVCJForum.com for full details and latest updates.
Some suggestions on making most of the AVCJ Forum
1) Get a copy of the final agenda. Due to changes in speaker schedules, we may move some of the panels around shortly before the conference. Make sure you get the latest copy so as not to miss out on the panels you want to hear.
2) Bring plenty of name cards. With over 1,000 delegates expected, there is nothing more embarrassing than saying, "I will send you my contact details when I get back."
3) Organize meetings beforehand. While we encourage delegates to attend as many speeches, panel discussions and social functions as possible, we understand that some topics will not be relevant to one's business. Find out who is coming to the event and set up meetings with likeminded professionals to make the most of your time.
